Lifeline Aotearoa's helpline provides free confidential support to anyone who is struggling with their mental health. In June, 2024 Lifeline celebrated their 60th Anniversary, as a part of their campaign they called out for donations to inspire our community to make sure we would still be around for at least another 60 years. Lifeline Aotearoa receive's no government funding and they rely solely on donations from the community.
Part of their campaign was creating a limited edition t-shirt to be sold with all the proceeds from the sales going directly back into Lifeline services.
I worked on designing this project with the fundraisers and I was responsible for creating the logo, the limited edition pattern for all the merchandise and the backend processes of selling and advertising to our community.
The core design is the circle, and the aim was to make an eye catching image that meant something to the team at Lifeline. The circle we created was inspired by an old telephone speaker, it consists of 36 green dots representing the price of a call to Lifeline and 60 blue dots representing the 60 years of service to Kiwis. Once we had the focal point the rest of the brand identity came together, like the logo shown below.
We also created a space to go for all the information on the 60th birthday this included a space to donate, space to sell the t-shirts and a space for people to set up their own fundraiser. We were limited to what we could do within the Grassrootz format, but overall we managed to incorporate all the necessary parts.
